WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly advertised for bids for
the purchase of a litter vacuum vehicle, and
WHEREAS, Tennant Sales and Service has submitted the lowest
responsible bid, and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the bid of Tennant
Sales and Service, Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the bid of Tennant Sales and Service is hereby accepted as
the lowest responsible bid and the City Manager is hereby authorized
and directed to issue a purchase order to Tennant Sales and Service for
the purchase of a litter vacuum vehicle .
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of
the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this
Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the
public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and
the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted
upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act , Chapter 551, Texas
Government Code, as amended, and the Act .

ITEM: *14.E.1. Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to issue a
purchase order to Tennant Sales and Service for the purchase of
a litter vacuum vehicle. The cost of the litter vacuum is
$24,398.51.

History: This item has been needed "forever". Small pieces of litter, especially
cigarette butts, are unsightly and time consuming to pick up manually.
Funding:
Cost: $24,398.51
Source of funds: General Fund
Outside Resources: Tennant Sales and Service
Impact: This Litter Vacuum will be used to pick up litter in various parks, main street
and in the parking garage.
Benefit: This machine will pick up small pieces of litter, reducing the need to hand rake, thus
reducing the number of man hours spent picking up litter.
