WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has previously entered into a
contract for engineering services ( "Contract" ) with HDR Engineering,
Inc . for the Lake Creek Pump Station Improvements Project, and
WHEREAS, HDR Engineering, Inc . has submitted Amendment No. 2 to
the Contract to provide access to the pump station from Burnet Street
and to provide for cleaner and safer operations and maintenance of the
pump station, as described in the attached Amendment No. 2 , and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enter into said Amendment
No . 2 to the Contract with HDR Engineering, Inc . , Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on
behalf of the City Amendment No. 2 to the Contract with HDR
Engineering, Inc . , a copy of said amendment being attached hereto and
incorporated herein for all purposes .
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of
the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this
Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the
public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and
the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted
upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas
Government Code, as amended, and the Act .

AMENDMENT No. 2
To the
CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES between
THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK and
HDR ENGINEERING, INC.
Dated October 14, 1999
GENERAL
This constitutes an Amendment to the Contract for Engineering Services—Lake Creek
Pump Station Improvements Project for PROFESSIONAL SERVICES between the City
of Round Rock "City" and HDR Engineering, Incorporated, of Austin,Texas (HDR).
The scope of services to be provided by the Engineer as listed in Attachment B of the
Contract is amended to include the following.
For the Design Phase, include in the following in the specifications and drawings to be
developed for Bidding Purposes:
• Enclose the existing chlorine and ammonia feed facilities on three sides to provide
weather protection, including doors on the north side of the building.
• Add a new access road from the pump station to Burnet Street with site lighting and
fencing.
• Prepare a driveway permit for the new access road to Burnet Street.
• Provide new fencing around the newly acquired site area that will allow for future
expansion of the pump station facilities.
• Design a new High Country pressure reducing valve and vault.
• Design a bypass for the existing IV 6 and IV 7 valves.
• Provide bidding and construction administration services for the High Country
pressure reducing valve vault and bypass for IV 6 and IV7.
The above listed items will be completed on the basis of Lump Sum in the amount of
Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50.000.00). This fee includes a Lump Sum fee of$4,500 for
additional survey services from Baker-Aicklen & Associates.
The term of this Amendment shall commence on the signing date and continue in effect
until such time as terminated in writing by either party.
SIGNATURE WARRANTY
The undersigned signatory on signatories for the Engineer hereby represents and warrant
that the signatory is an officer of the organization for which he or she has executed this
Contract and that he or she has full and complete authority to enter into this Contract on
behalf of the firm. The above-stated representations and warranties are made for the
purpose of entering into this Contract with the City.
IN WITNESS HEREOF, the City and the Engineer have executed these presents in
duplicate.

SUBJECT: City Council Meeting—August 23, 2001
ITEM: 14.F.3. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute
Amendment No. 2 to the Contract for Engineering Services with
HDR Engineering, Inc.for the Lake Creek Pump Station
Improvements project. The total fee for this amendment is
$50,000.00.

History: Council approved the current contract with HDR for the Lake Creek Pump
Station Improvements on the 14"' day of October 1999 for $167,280.00. These
improvements were needed to replace and upgrade the existing vertical turbine
pumps to deliver water to the 924 pressure plain. Also, council approved
Contract Amendment No. 1 on the 22nd day of February 2001, in the amount of
$54,000.00, to consolidate the multiple electric feeds into the site into a single
feed. Additionally, these improvements were to include upgrading the
electrical building, the fluoridation system, and chemical feed system, which
will simplify operations and maintenance.
The general scope of work under this amendment is to enclose the existing
chlorine and ammonia feed facilities, along with design survey and general site
work to develop our new site access drive off Burnet Street and fencing of the
new site. Also, included in this amendment are the design of the High Country
PRV and a 30-inch water line bypass at the existing IV 6 and IV 7 valves. With
this Amendment No. 2 the total contract amount will be $271,280.00.
Funding:
Cost: $50,000.00
Source of funds: Transfers from Fund 24-LCRA
Outside Resources: HDR Engineering, Inc.
Impact: To provide cleaner and safer operations and maintenance at the Lake Creek
site. Burnet Street access will be much safer.
Benefit: Besides simplifying the operations and maintenance of the Lake Creek Pump
Station. Eliminating the S. May access will provide safer site access.
