RESOLUTION NO. R-07-11-08-10B1 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly advertised for bids for the Kensington Park 16-inch Waterline Improvements Project, and WHEREAS, McLean Construction, Ltd. has submitted the lowest responsible bid, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the bid of McLean Construction, Ltd. , Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City a contract with McLean Construction, Ltd. for Kensington Park 16-inch Waterline Improvements Project . The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Construction Contract with McLean Construction, Ltd. for the Kensington Park 16-inch Waterline Improvements Project. Department: Water and Wastewater Utilities Staff Person: Michael Thane, P.E., Director of Utilities Justification: The Kensington Park 16-inch Waterline Improvements Project is included in the City's 2004 Water System Master Plan and will allow the City to maximize the use of groundwater from the Lake Creek Pump Station, which is the City's least expensive source of water. The line will connect to an existing 16-inch water located at the South 81 elevated storage tank and extend east through Kensington Park and under Greenlawn Boulevard up to the intersection at Gattis School Road. Staff recommends awarding the contract for $480,724.78 to McLean Construction, Ltd. who was the lowest responsible bidder to construct this water pipeline project. Funding: Cost: $480,724.78 Source of funds: Self Financed Utility Fund Outside Resources: S. D. Kallman, L.P. Background Information: There were fifteen bidders on this project.
